Fields House – A Modern, Family-Centered Custom Home on the Banks of the Thompson River in Kamloops, BC
Fields House is a large, fully custom home located on the scenic banks of the Thompson River in Kamloops, British Columbia. Designed for a young family of four, the interior spaces are both highly personal and deeply functional—crafted to support the dynamic rhythm of everyday family life as well as moments of retreat and large-scale entertaining.
This project was guided by the desire to create a space that feels livable and luxurious, rooted in nature yet refined in execution. The family wanted a home that balances modern industrial touches with warm, earthy textures, offering comfort, durability, and timeless appeal.
Inspired by the surrounding Kamloops landscape—including grassy fields, hoodoo mountains, sagebrush, and river views—the palette features neutral tones accented with soft greens, greys, and blacks. The result is a natural yet elevated interior that feels grounded, calm, and cohesive.
This project pays homage to the natural beauty of Kamloops, BC, by integrating local inspiration into every detail. From the color palette to the material selection, Fields House reflects the essence of the Thompson River Valley—making it a truly personal and site-specific design.
