Quiet Acres

Quiet Acres

Set within an open pasture surrounded by rolling mountains and forest, Quiet Acres is a modern Scandinavian-inspired guesthouse designed as a peaceful rural retreat. Created as a short-term rental on a rural property, the project celebrates architectural simplicity, natural materials, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

A modest rectangular form and continuous vaulted ceiling establish the home’s clean architectural language. Carefully selected knot-free wood brings warmth and continuity to the walls, ceilings, and custom millwork, while concrete floors and subtle black accents provide contrast. A restrained palette of whites, greys, and natural wood creates a calm, cohesive interior, allowing the expansive views to take centre stage. From the streamlined kitchen to the custom bunk beds, every detail balances functionality with understated Scandinavian inspired design.

Nëvo Design House’s scope began with exterior design collaboration alongside the building designer and extended through interior space planning, custom millwork design, all interior finish selections, and the majority of furnishings. The result is a thoughtfully considered retreat where modern simplicity meets the quiet beauty of rural living.
